Estimated download times
- Fast NBN / Fibre: Usually a few minutes for the smaller version and longer for the larger High Quality and 4K versions.
- Average home Wi-Fi: Allow extra time for the High Quality 1080p and especially the 4K version.
- Mobile data: The larger versions may use significant data and take a long time to download.
- All versions are designed to be fully downloaded before playback for the best experience.
How to watch on a phone or tablet
- Use the 1080p Phone / Website version.
- After downloading, open the file from your Downloads folder or Files app.
- If the video does not open straight away, try opening it with VLC Media Player or another video player app.
How to watch on a TV
- For most TVs, use the High Quality 1080p version first. It gives very good quality and is usually easier for TVs to play smoothly.
- If you have a 4K TV and want the maximum quality, download the 4K High Quality version.
- Copy the video file onto a USB 3.0 or USB 3.2 flash drive.
- Format the USB stick as exFAT if the file is larger than 4GB.
- Plug the USB stick into the TV and open the file using the TV media player.
Google Drive download message
Large video files hosted on Google Drive may show a message saying the file is too large for Google Drive to scan for viruses. This is completely normal for large video files.
- If you see this message, simply click Download anyway.
- The files are direct exports from the original Borneo video project.
- The 4K version especially may trigger this warning because of its large file size.
USB stick recommendation
For the High Quality 1080p or 4K version, use a good quality USB 3.0 or USB 3.2 flash drive. Older USB 2.0 sticks may be too slow for smooth playback on some televisions.
